Allergy Shots

Allergy shots have been around since the 1930′s, and are a tried-and-true method of making allergies less severe. The extracts of the very things you are allergic to are injected just under the skin in small amounts at regular intervals, usually weekly to start.

The series of shots, in a sense, vaccinates you against the things to which you’re allergic. Over time, you become more tolerant of your allergies. The dosage of the allergy extracts can be steadily increased until you reach a maintenance dose.

These shots are given in our office, and the vial preparations are custom-made for you, according to the results of your allergy testing. For patients that fail to respond adequately to allergy medication, allergy shots have proven to be helpful to the great majority of allergy sufferers.
